The TIER (Training for IED Emergency Response) program is an innovative training initiative designed to enhance the skills and readiness of bomb technicians in handling incidents involving improvised explosive devices. This program provides clients with cutting-edge training devices on an annual or semiannual basis.
Our electronics training for bomb squad personnel starts with foundational concepts like Ohm's Law and advances through to complex topics, including microcontrollers, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the technology they encounter during operations. These training classes are taught by electrical engineers (EE) and subject matter experts (SME).
This immersive 3-5 day course, led by an experienced EE and SME's, provides specialized electronics training focused on basic IED triggers and circuits. Participants will receive hands-on experience with circuit-building materials, including tools and components, as they design and construct custom IED circuits. The course culminates in a final day exercise where students will deploy their circuits in realistic scenarios, challenging their peers and enhancing their practical skills.
This advanced 3-day course, taught by an EE and SME's, builds on our introductory IED electronics course by delving into integrated circuits, microprocessors, and electronic sensors. Participants will expand their knowledge and skills in these critical areas, equipping them to handle more sophisticated IED technologies in the field.
This intensive 1-day course, is a review of basic components and first principles, Ohm's Law, circuit analysis, AC/DC, impedance, RC and RL circuits, transistors, FETs, analog triggers, and an introduction to digital theory.
This 1 to 5-day course offers specialized classroom and hands-on instruction from SME's in the manual defeat of barrier materials commonly used in IED construction. Students will receive a personal kit tailored to the barrier materials covered in the course, allowing for practical, focused training. The course culminates in a hands-on exercise where participants apply their skills to neutralize training IEDs designed with those specific materials.
This intensive 2-day course provides advanced training in targeting and disruptor techniques. The program includes both classroom instruction and hands-on range work, covering various disruptor shot types such as Revjet, Minus 8, and Hydrosphere, along with precision aiming using the Grid Board and XTK systems. On the range, technicians will practice with a variety of tools and x-ray systems, receiving real-time feedback on their success to help refine their RSP procedures.
This multi-day course offers specialized training in expedient and destructive entry techniques for vehicles suspected of containing improvised explosive devices. Participants will gain hands-on experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models, equipping them with the skills needed to effectively and safely breach any type of vehicle in high-stakes scenarios.
This two-day course, led by SME's, combines classroom instruction with practical exercises focused on the recognition and defeat of booby traps. Participants will apply their knowledge in hands-on exercise lanes, where they will navigate and neutralize realistic booby trap scenarios, demonstrating their skills in real-world conditions.
After completion of the two-day seminar, students can expect to be able to evaluate and approach a target lock or container and develop a plan for manipulating, defeating, or bypassing the locking system to open or enter gates, buildings, containers, and secured spaces. Personnel will leave with issued kit that prepares and equips them to tackle the kinds of situations that may confront bomb technicians and law enforcement officers.

Coordination with local hazmat during the decontamination portion will help lead to better understanding of these types of operations.
This multi-day course, provides in-depth training on the identification and response to radiological materials. The course concludes with a hands-on RDD/RED IED exercise on the final day, allowing participants to apply their skills in a realistic, high-stakes scenario.
